The duties of the reception include providing information on the rules of admission to a hospice and receiving the necessary documentation to place the person in the hospice ward.
The reception is the first point of contact for people coming to the hospice and it helps to direct visitors based on the reported problem. Outside of home care hours, the reception also accepts emergency treatment visits from home hospice care patients and informs duty physicians and nurses about them.
